Abstract

This DATASET includes the raw data set and the statistical analysis of a family of experiment to empirically study the factors that affect the effectiveness of MDD based on the measurement of accuracy.

The statistical analysis includes prior descriptive analysis of the variables defined in the study, the use of PCA (Principal Components Analysis) to understand the relationships between the variables selected to answer some of our research questions, hypothesis testing and calculations of the effects that the studied factors may have on the dependent variable accuracy in MDD contexts.

The research questions we intend to answer with the attached analysis are:

RQ1 - Is the effectiveness of MDD affected by academic achievement?

RQ2 - Is the effectiveness of MDD affected by previous experience with conceptual models?

RQ3 - Is the effectiveness of MDD affected by professional experience at software companies?

RQ4 - Are developers who are good at CcD also good at MDD?

RQ5 – Is the effectiveness of MDD affected by the MDD tool?

They are included in both IBM SPSS Statistics (.sav) and Microsoft Excel (.xlsx) formats.

03_Descriptives_allVariables

Files that contain the values of the main descriptive statistics and the results of the normality tests that correspond to all the variables measured in the study: the response variables and the independent variables or factors.

They are included in both IBM SPSS Statistics (.sav) and PDF Reader (.pdf) formats.

04_PCA_VariablesReduction

Files that contain the execution and results of the PCA Variables reduction used in the study.

They are included in both IBM SPSS Statistics (.sav) and PDF Reader (.pdf) formats.

05_Descriptives_ResponseVariables_byFactors

Files that contain the result of the descriptive analysis carried out on the response variables in the different alternatives of the factors considered. In addition to the values of key descriptive statistics,

visual aids such as histograms and box plots are included. The files also include the results of Normality tests and Heterogeneity of Variance tests.

They are included in both IBM SPSS Statistics (.sav) and PDF Reader (.pdf) formats.

06_Descriptives_ResponseVariables_byComponents
