Abstract

The dataset contains maps with the objective analysis (OA) fields of available water contents.  OA is based on ground-base and remote sensing (ASCAT) observations in the upper 10 and 20 cm soil layers for the period from September 11 to November 16, 2022.

Instructions:

The dataset contains maps with the objective analysis (OA) fields of available water contents.  OA is based on ground-base and remote sensing (ASCAT) observations in the upper 10 and 20 cm soil layers for the period from September 11 to November 16, 2022. We present the results of  two versions of the OA analysis algorithm.

1)      Old version that was realized under the assumptions: a) homogeneity and isotropy of the random fields; b)  the transfer function of ASCAT  is a piecewise linear.

2)      New version with essentially weaker assumptions a) the random fields are heterogeneous and anisotropic; b) the ASCAT transfer function is a neural network.
