Abstract

AI Ethics Global Document Collection

Daniel Schiff, Jason Borenstein, Justin Biddle, & Kelly Laas

Documents in the dataset were published between January 2016 through July 2019

This dataset is associated with a (forthcoming) paper in IEEE Transactions on Technology and Society, entitled "AI Ethics in the Public, Private, and NGO Sectors: A Review of a Global Document Collection.

Details about the motivation and conceptual basis for the project, data collection procedures, inclusion and exclusion criteria, codebook development, scoring procedures, and approach to reliability involved in producing this data set are discussed in the paper. Potential research project and dataset limitations are also discussed. Any errors are the responsibility of the authors.

The online appendices (forthcoming) provide further information about the categories captured, including the full and abbreviated names of the 25 ethical concepts. There is also a separate list of other ethical concepts identified in the documents but not systematically measured.

Instructions:

Instructions and Codebook are included in the first sheets of the dataset.
