Abstract

This study utilizes a bibliometric analysis to explore the research landscape of student attrition within the computer sciences (CS) field. As a widely-adopted technique for evaluating published scientific articles, bibliometric analysis proves invaluable in examining vast and growing research streams. By applying this method, the study uncovers key patterns, trends, and insights in the student attrition literature, offering a comprehensive understanding of the factors influencing retention in CS and informing future research and interventions in the domain.

Instructions:

To analyze the dataset using the Bibliometrix package in R, please follow these instructions:

1. Install and load the Bibliometrix package: If you haven't already installed the Bibliometrix package, install it using the command install.packages("bibliometrix"). Then, load the package with the command library(bibliometrix).

2. Import the dataset: Import the dataset (in .xlsx format) into R using the appropriate function, such as convert2df() for .bib files or read.csv() for .csv files.

3. Perform a bibliometric analysis: Use the Bibliometrix package's functions to perform various analyses on your dataset. Some common functions include:

4. Download any of the images from the plots.
