Abstract

This dataset has been taken using the Photonic Mixer Device (PMD) Selene Module. To capture the image, we have constructed a demonstrator setup consisting of five materials (i.e., foam board (location: center), crepe paper (location: top), polystyrene (location: right), bubble wrap (location: left), wax (location: bottom)). Each image has been taken at 5 different distances (uniformly distributed between 82 cm to 47 cm) and at 3 different orientations (uniformly distributed between -10 degree to 10 degree) for each material. To avoid noise, each image has been taken in dark environment.

Instructions:

The file contains a .*mat file (i.e., material_rec_realFiveNew_PB-H0106_steps_dataset_n_setups=5_n_inst_per_setup=15_n_avg_frames=25) , which be accessed via MATLAB.

The cell "dataset" of size [5 (row), 15 (column)] contains images that has been taken at 5 different distances (uniformly distributed between 82 cm to 47 cm) and at 3 different orientations (uniformly distributed between -10 degree to 10 degree) for each material.

Each cell contains nine images, which has been taken at multi-frequancy (uniformly distributed between 20 MHz to 160 MHz).

Additionally the file also contains two Excel sheet. One excel sheet provides information about the materials and another Excel sheet provides information of the pixels ranges for each material. However, instance number 14 (i.e. dataset{:,14}) for each material depicts the pixel ranges for the entire demonstrator setup.
